2018 Symposium: Creativity from an embodied & situated view
Date: Friday 5 October 2018
Location: Utrecht University, Utrecht, the Netherlands
Room E3.14 (Faculty Room), Langeveld building, Heidelberglaan 1, 3584 CS Utrecht
Aim of the symposium: Most previous research on creativity fits the traditional psychological trait approach. However, recent findings suggest that cognitive processes and actions result from these processes are to be regarded as situated and embodied. With this one-day small-scale symposium we are aiming at exploring creativity from a situated-embodied perspective from different fields of research and, as a result, strengthen our understanding of creativity. This symposium is a collaboration of the United Platform of Creativity in Education (UPCE) and the Webster Center for Creativity and Innovation (WCCI).
Fee: There is no fee to attend the symposium.
The registration is full. If you are interested in our future events, please register to our platform through here. We will keep you posted.
PS. If you have questions or need help with arranging practical things (e.g., the accommodation), feel free to contact us (UPCE@uu.nl).

The United Platform of Creativity in Education at Utrecht University is platform founded by Prof. dr. Evelyn Kroesbergen (Radboud University) and Prof. dr. Kiene Brillenburg Wurth (Utrecht University). The UPCE brings together creativity researchers across the globe to enlarge our shared knowledge on creativity in education. We aim to map the terrain, to deepen collaboration, and to transfer research findings to educational practice.
Researchers from various perspectives will be connected to share their ideas, instruments, and findings. Additionally, we aim to establish sub-networks of researchers that will form the basis for future collaboration.
